OUR VISION
We aspire to connect all citizens of Fauquier County to their parks and public lands. We aim to create, protect and transform parks for future generations, building beautiful spaces that can be enjoyed by all.
OUR MISSION
An official partner of the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to encourage and cultivate support for Fauquier County Parks and Recreation initiatives including the development, enhancement and improvement of parks, trails, facilities, and recreational programs.
WHAT WE DO
Donations play a key role in supporting the development and enhancement of parks and programs in Fauquier. Every contribution, from small donations to major gifts, has made an impact. The Fauquier Parks Foundation helps to bridge the gap between your gift, its impact, and the needs of the county.
OUR HISTORY
Over the years, Fauquier County has benefitted from a rich legacy of generosity by individuals, families, local business and corporations, and foundations who have donated their time, land, and funds to make the public spaces of Fauquier County what they are today. We are deeply grateful for all these contributions and recognize their tremendous impact on our community.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Fauquier Parks Foundation was officially formed in 2021 but brings decades of experiencing managing nonprofits and gift-giving initiatives to improve communities. The Foundation encourages contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations. A particular objective is to encourage and develop support for capital campaigns for major park development projects and for the acquisition of new park properties and facilities.
The Foundation is also uniquely positioned to seek and receive grant money from individuals and private foundations that do not generally give to municipalities or governmental agencies.
In addition, the Foundation established an endowment to provide continuing support for Fauquier County parks.
The Foundation welcomes and appreciates donations including cash gifts, real estate, company stock, estate bequests, tribute and memorial gifts, and in-kind contributions.
